Led Zeppelin is the best and Pink Floyd is my fav band.
And of couse The Who, The Doors are soooo frikin` awesome.
But I have to add Aerosmith, Black Sabbath, Santana, and Queen. The 60`s and the 70`s kick total ASS!!!!! And I agree that Linkin Park is a disgrace and are sooooooooo not ROCK! And MCR and aiden suck ASS!!!!!!!!!

Guns N` Roses anyway. They played rock, successfully balancing between styles and using expressive lyrics to make the masses awake.

The first band that came to my head is Nirvana. Then The Rolling Stones. Oasis (especially for their album whats the story morning glory)... U2 is also one of the biggest band and they still make very good music today... great bands such as guided by voices and archers of loaf deserve also to be mentionned.

U2 and the Rolling Stones. because they influenced so many bands. people that listen to different styles of music usually like them also. + they still play today. they have many, many hits and continue to evoluate in their music. i think they are big and good. rock on

I think nobody can name the #1 band of all times cause there is just so many great bands and they`re all special in their own way. And that`s what music is all about. It`s not about ranking, it`s appreciating artists for what they are.

And also, I agree that some older bands deserve much credit for their work, cause after all, they were the ones that started the whole thing, but I hate when somebody trashes new bands just because they`re new. Of course, bands like Maroon 5, Evanescence, Linkin Park... didn`t do as much as Led Zeppellin, The Beatles and others, but you don`t need to be all judgemental just because they`re new and "the music died a long time ago, nobody makes good music today". Cause it`s not true. For me, rock music never dies, it just re-envents itself and that`s exactly what it should be like. Each era in rock music has its special sound and they`re all great. Music should bring us all together instead of bringing us apart, cause everybody has their own opinion and taste and they`re more than welcome to express themselves.

Alice In Chains are im afraid the greatest rock band of all time, they sucessfully pull of the whole rock/metal thing with a slash of punk that grunge was all about, and just generally in my opinion theyr the best because theyr my favourite. I suppose you could say that loads of other bands are the greatest aswell, classic ones being, Led Zeppelin the beatles Cream and Hendrix .etc. And for the newer ones youve got Muse, Radiohead and in my opinion At The Drive-In and Placebo. But AIC rule

If I were allowed I`d certainly consider saying the Beatles.

I`d say the original Mahavishnu Orchestra if I allowed myself the distinction. There were, however, three editions of that group, and the second and third editions were not very good. They all went by the same name, unfortunately.

Most of the longer-lived rock groups that started very well such as Santana and Jethro Tull eventually took a nose dive.

I really, really, really hate Rush. I moderately hate Queen. I am mildly antipathetic toward Led Zeppelin. The Who`s "Who`s Next" is a very good record, but that`s pretty much it for that group. The Rolling Stones have a song here and there that I like. They`re good for a single greatest hits record.

Best rock group ever is Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, or AC/DC. The first 2 bands are 2 of the top 3 bands ever and AC/DC has had a huge impact on rock n` roll since the 80`s. Back in Black was an amazing album and it inspired many of today`s rockers.

what the hell is frank talking about?led zeppelin were the same all through their discography?zeppelin played rock hard rock country oriental reggae and one of the best blues songs ever (since i` ve been loving you).also zeppelin have the best drummer ever nothing compared to ringo star not to mention jimmy page and john paul jones.and please ... robert plant is a lot better than all the beatles together
