I think it's consistently good. I played the entire album all the way through and liked it. After St. Anger I wasn't expecting much - but it's been pleasantly surprising. Really reminds me of their early work - which we all agree is their golden age. Looks like metallica are recovering from the past 10 years of stagnation.

It's a start. It's a poor man's Master of Puppets, which is a positive. Slayer fans have been suffering lately, but at least they've gotten stuff like God Hates Us All and Christ Illusion. I think this one just shows they still have the ability to thrash it out, despite the fact that some of it sounded recylced and some of it was pretty average. High notes have to be "That Was Just Your Life", "The End of the Line", "The Day That Never Comes", "All Nightmare Long" and "Suicide & Redemption".

I fully expect an album similar to this from them next, only MUCH, MUCH better.

When I first heard they were in the studio I didn't spected much, but when I bought it I thought it was actually pretty good (100000000000 times better than St. Anger and REload)

And i absolutely agree with the one who said they can probably make a better one!!
