has anyone else found E-C#-G# in measures 195 and 196 of mvmt 3 a little *too* much of a stretch, or is it just me? F#-Cb-G# is no sweat, but that first one seems like it can`t be played quite right; any input?

Ever seen the Moonlight sonate with fingerings? It`s just a matter of putting the fingers in the right order like in all music or it won`t work.

I really hate it that there is no good free sheet music sites around. Theres hundreds of guitar tab sites, but none for piano. It cant be illegal either if you do it right. You just have to say that the music you have isn`t the original music and that it is you own interpretation (Whether it is or not is another story ^_-). I would be happy to start a simple site on a free server if there is any interest, however im not sure how much sheet music can fit onto a 20mb site. I know how to make a website but im not really sure about the format of the sheet music or stuff like that. If any could help or has any suggestions please email me at w_e_b_m_a_s_t_e_r_6_9@hotmail.com

Not enough free sheet music for piano?! There is plenty! Try looking for free clarinet music above about Grade 3.

There`s plenty of CRAP sheet music out there. It`s all either simple, outrageously difficult or in a midi file. I would like to go to a site and get whatever sheet music i want. Have you looked at a guitar tab site?? They are huge and they have everything. That is what I would want.

If you`re looking for classical music, the Sheet Music Archive is good. I don`t know about other styles, though, I`ve never really looked.

I`ve been playing moonlight sonata 3rd mvt for 2 months now, but I`ve been wondering. Are you supposed to use pedals?

I can play 1 & 2. 3 is what they call a pipe-dream for most, including myself. To answer your question, I don`t believe any pedaling is used in the third movement. If there is use of them, it is infrequent, definitely not constant !!

Pedalling    14:00 on Sunday, December 28, 2003 Vote for this post Vote against this post 0 votes
(Dooooood)
Yes, there is pedalling in the third movement...some of it is actually notated, in fact. The fortissimo chords at the end of those recurring appregios are definitely pedalled. Also, I`ve heard at least one recording where pedalling was used more liberally, and it sounded awesome. Unless you can play the piece very well, though, I`d avoid pedalling anywhere else, until you realy feel the music.

...howcome I feel like I can feel the music more when I use the pedal throughout the whole piece?...
