The Emersons is a new set, including them playing the octet with themselves! My own favourite is the set from the Artis Quartet of Vienna - you can get it direct from them at http://www.artis-quartett.at/. Other good versions are the Coull Quartet, and the Ysaye.

Quick update Mad. There is a review of the new Emerson set on this weeks CD Review on BBC Radio 3 on Saturday am. You will also be able to hear it for a full week afterwards on the BBC Radio Player.

Cheers

I prefer the `Leipziger Streichquartett` recording published by mdg (Link to mdg: http://www.mdg.de/indexeng.htm)
