Marshall 1959SLP Vintage Series Super Lead Plexi Guitar Amplifier Head (100 Watts)

This is it! The Marshall 1959SLP 100-watt Super Lead Plexiglas, head of the late '60s/early '70s, as used by countless classic bands has been re-issued in all of its glory. The 1959SLP has been in production since the late 60s but with various electrical and cosmetic changes happening along the way. The models produced in the late 1960s/early 1970s however, were the ones that most tone gurus regarded as the finest examples.

Marshall 1959SLP Vintage Series Super Lead Plexi Guitar Amplifier Head (100 Watts) Reviews

Marshall 1959SLP Vintage Series Super Lead Plexi Guitar Amplifier Head (100 Watts) Sample Review

Feature:
I'll admit it lacks on features as compared to todays amps, (hell after all it was made in the 60's), but the idea is to go after that basic tone first then add your other effects on top of that. Ther is nothing that compares to the tone of a Marshall Plexi.

Quality:
Marshall is the only amp. Consider none else. And the 1959 plexi is THE MARSHALL AMP. The saying, "They don't make'em like they use to," don't apply here.

Value:
You want quality you got to pay for it or everyone would have one.

Desirability:
When a good sounding Plexi is put into the right hands to play through it could make you; cry, laugh, sing, get horny, feel brave ect.

Sound:
Here a tweak there a tweak, fire it up and you have real electricity.

Support:
Never had a problem with the Marshall staff. I give them a 7.

Overall:
I'll be happy with them as long as they keep making them. I would be even happier it Marshall made them so we didn't need to modify the reissues to get them to sound like the originals, ie trannys, caps, boards, ect.
