For the 52nd International Festival children's and youth choirs 2004 in Belgium, the organisation commitee has asked Belgian composers to make arrangements of a given melody from one of the 10 new countries which will enter in the European Community. The melody is from Estonia. The text is about Jaan who rides to the midsummernightsfire on his horse. This typical Estonian habit happens every year on the National Feastday in the end of June. Original text in Estonian language: Jaan l?eb jaanitulele, miuke Jaani hobune, kaasike? Silmad siidituttides, lakk on h?behelmestes, kaasike." Translation in English: "Jaan goes to the midummernightsfire how lookes his horse, kaasike. Eyes are ornamented with silk, the hair of the horse ornamented with perls of silver, kaasike."
