Originally composed by Adolphe Adam in 1847 (lyrics by Placide Cappeau).
This arrangement was written for 3 cellos, solo voice and piano accompaniment. It was first performed by a group of my Grade 7 cello students at their christmas concert in 2008.
This piece can be performed without the piano part. You may also wish to substute the vocal line for violins to make it into a chamber string ensemble piece.
