Doing grade 6 Sax (tenor) next year + just gotta new clarinet- RC Buffet (very cool) I'm in three bands, a concert band, orchestra (very small school one) and jazz band. (jazz is pretty fun).
Also i've got a yamaha student model clarinet, selling soon.
I've got an alto sax, a Selmer super action 80, superb sound, and very nice to play, if only i had more time..
Also i have (kinda my dads) a tenor sax. It's a Selmer mark 6, Extremely good saxophone, used to be played by Charlie Miller from Dr. John's band, Heard of them??

p.s. I think that the 'Instruments played' thing is a bit unnecessary, if you can play the clarinet/sax etc, you can play just about any reed instrument, if you can play the trumpet you can play the trombone. Lots of instruments are essentially the same.
The evil sounds have deceased, partly. my notes still sound a bit strained, and i'm still getting a little trouble, but i'm working on it.

Started to play Violin!! im going to play a piece at our school music night, it'l sound pretty crap, but there are heaps of other beginners so itl be ok. YAY!!
Interests
I like music, obviosly. I play Clarinet and Tenor Sax, also have an Alto but sadly, don`t use it much. I like playing soccer :) and at the moment my favorite bands are; Cat Empire, Ozomatli, Smash Mouth, and the new album (Grand National) by the John Butler Trio. I don`t mind listening to Jazz/some classical but i play them more than listening to them.

a few weeks ago i got a go kart, and dad and i set up a small track and now i have something else to do in my spare time YAY, a couple of my friends have tried it out, but they suck.. now im the Marcus Ambrose of the track!
my cat, yes, he's lovely. I went on to those virtual pet websites (which can be accessed quite easily through myspace and bebo etc.) and made him, then i copyed one of the codes. Then i ctr-v'ed it into the 8notes description, and walla! it took a fair bit of experimentation.
i also have, on my bebo, a hamster called Davidoff, a wolf called Stravinski, and a monkey called Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

music_girl_27 As for your problem about your higher notes, try playing some slurred scales starting at soprano C or G(depending on if you can go to the G above the staff)and work your way back to tounging them when you feel confident with your slurring.Right now I play clarinet and oboe in equal measure(so i dont ruin my embouchre on either one) but i play piano the most because i actually just started taking lessons about a month ago, so i need the practice.

Captain_Tuckshop oops, that was long, had to stop because i exceeded the 1000 word limit. but anyway.
my strengths in music are my excellent relevant pitch (it's not quite perfect pitch *sob*), my musicality, and my ability to pick up almost any instrument and learn to play a scale within the hour.
my down sides on music is that my time keeping is worse than someone adjusting a metronome, i have no sense of rythm or swing, and my technique tends to lag behind when I learn a new instrument because I advance to rapidly.
God i sound self obsessed.
next year, i'm gonna be very busy because I will be invovled in:
1. two youth orchestras
2. stage band
3. wind symphony
4. school strings
5. quartet
6. solo work (includes lessons)
7. school musical
that's Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights are booked out, lessons and such on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (during school) etc.

yes well, i'm just barely out of newbie school myself!! So i have no idea how to add pictures. But the "Add friend" option is almost directly under the profile photo. I'll add you as a friend, now you have to go to your friend's box and press accept or something.
about the photos, many of the flute players are hardcore 8noters, so mabye they'll be able to tell you how! hop over to the flute forum, there's plenty of them there!!
Well, i started playing violin in grade 4, played that for two years, that ditched it for cello. I've played cello ever since, it's my baby, but over the years I've learned viola, guitar, double bass, and am a self taught pianist. I'm in grade 9 now, and i picked up trombone at the start of Term 2 this year, and have advanced rapidly. (if i do say so myself )

yeah 8notes is the coolest cool on this cool planet!!!! strings is hard (but in a cool hard cool way) and it does take heaps of cool practise to gain ultimate coolness. which is cool. But then again, so does every other cool instrument.
And, how cool!!! i am exactly the same, i wanna be cool and play every cool instrument that any cool people have made. because it'd be freakin cool!!! but that would'nt be so cool (according to some not-cool people who think they are cool) that say it'd screw up you cool embouchere and you wouldn't advance coolly on one cool instrument. DAMN COOL WANNABES!!!!!
but i'm cool with that, i cna sorta see some cool in their point. I'll just have to stick with playing 7 cool intsruments. WHICH IS STILL FREAKING COOL!!!
