About Me
I'm 26, uruguayan, and have been playing flute for a little under a year now, which actually translates into eight months because of the four months I spent working on Antarctica this summer (winter for those of you in the north). I'm in love, though. It all started for my liking of rock and jazz (I've been playing rock and blues guitar for ten years now). It was sort of backwards: I've always liked classical music, but I payed attention mostly to strings. It was after hearing some jazz flute and Jethro Tull when I started to listen to winds, and specially flute in classical music. So, after years of doubts (I mean, what sort of instrument sounds lower the more fingers you put down?!? ;)) I decided to get a flute and a flute teacher, and now, as I said, I'm in love.
Interests
Reading, roleplaying, more reading (books and comics), movies, Doctor Who, marine biology, diving... Oh, and music. All kinds. Except those that I don't like. "I think music of all kinds should require an effort from everyone involved. Both musicians and audience should be struggling toward something, even if it's not necessarily the same thing. To be getting somewhere to communication, they should both be growing and climbing toward something - making an effort. And probably not getting there .... Which raises all sorts of questions, the question of art for one." Ian Anderson, from Jethro Tull, in Rolling Stone, July 1971 | |||
