No, you're right, you don't deserve it. None of us do - all of what we do is completely unforgivable. Romans 3:23 says that, "All of us have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God". My favourite picture is a driving test. Two of my friends recently took tests and both failed - one because she drove perfectly but forgot to look in her mirrors when setting off; the other because she hit a tree and wrecked the instructor's car (true stories)! It's obvious which one is a better driver (and I wouldn't want to get into a car with Frankie) but it doesn't matter - neither of them is allowed on the road.

...but look at verse 24! "But God treats us much better than we deserve, and because of Christ Jesus, he freely accepts us and sets us free from our sins." That's grace! Grace doesn't care what we've done - God promises to forgive everything and wipe us clean.

Thanks for prayers. On the subject of being a "bad" Christian, one of tonight's Bible readings was John 8:1-11 - the adulterous woman who didn't end up getting stoned. The preacher pointed out that she knew she'd done wrong and was feeling rotten and the last person she wanted to face was Jesus the mighty prophet and altogether very holy man. That's exactly what she needed though and He was the one who could set her free. If you're hiding because you know you're not doing well and can't face sorting it out, stop it at once!

We're playing a bit of a gig and then leading a time of worship at a youth event in the middle of Manchester - should be a challenge but great fun at the same time! Prayers would be appreciated, particularly now as Sarah and I finalise the arrangements.

I've also had a busy week with 5 concerts - 1 conducting, 1 on flute, 2 on timps and 1 singing! This would be alright if they didn't expect me to do all the work for my science degree at the same time...

Things with my ex aren't going particularly smoothly at the moment, but we're trying still to come out of it as friends. I'm ok though - I think it was the right decision.

Well, the orchestra meets for a weekend to rehearse, play a concert on the Saturday night and lead worship on the Sunday morning about four times a year. My first dates are a rehearsal in January, a CD recording in February and a large Christian conference called Easter People in April! :-D

Took a while, but I finally got the results of my audition this morning - I got in! :-D I now play the flute for a national Christian orchestra! Yay!
