I'm kind of thinking that if I were to get serious with flute then youth orch would be the way to go...but I'm not sure I want to because it could be some new phase...I just can't run the risk of getting my hopes to be involved and not be good enough or not have the time to.

There's no particular curriculum in the band that I'm in, and there's no chair system either, but if there was, I'd probably be 3rd out of four.

One of the other flute players is so good that whenever she plays anything, even a scale, I feel like she's about a hundred times better than I'll ever be. She sounds like a professional. And now I'm going on and on about something totally uninteresting, and it's about 10:15 p.m. and I need sleep. Gack.

Wow. This is terrifying. We're both homeschooled 7th grade flute players. And I'm almost 13. Next you're probably going to tell me that you live in Oregon. (Though you probably don't.) I go to band at the school, which is within walking distance from my house (That is why I do not play the sax. Flutes are portable, saxes are not.

jeez, i just realised how much time has gone pasted before i last sent you a message. sorry. school's finally calmed down a bit even it has been only a few weeks. i'm just trying to sneak in any free time i got towards having fun. homework is still pretty hectic but i've gotten used to it. year 7 must be a piece fo cake compared to this. anyway, how are you going?
