About Me
I recently joined this site because I visit it so often for music. I decided to join because, well, why not? I`m still learning my way around here, so...yeah :)

I play the violin, and started learning when I was 6 or 7 in grade 1 at primary school. I am now in grade 6 (still at primary school >.< ) and that means I`ve been learning for 5 years. When I leave for high school I will still continue learning violin inside of school, and luckily with the same teacher. My teacher just happened to take up a job at the school I applied for, and I just found out not so long ago. I think it will help me progress faster, learning from the same teacher, because she will not have to test how must I`ve already learnt ect. I am learning grade 2 violin. I have taken the priliminary exam, and the grade 1 exam. I got so stressed out in the grade 1 exam that I mucked up everything, and had to keep restarting, and for the key I looked at the end of the page, when it was a 2 page piece ect. So I have now taken a brake from exams, and am just enjoying it.

I started learning the piano when I was 10, in grade 4. My older sister had already been learning for a long time, and I loved it when she played for me, and would sometimes muck around with her old beginner books. My Mum also learnt piano as a kid, so that might be why I enjoy it so much. When I got sick of just playing around myself, I begged Mum for lessons, and started learning at school with my sister`s old teacher. I played for a term and a bit, and even was able to skip past the exams `til grade 1 quite easily. I really enjoyed it, and felt proud, and special because everyone was impressed at me doing so well, and being able to play two instruments. Eventually the pressure got too hard, and I couldn`t keep up with two instruments. Also, becuase I was learning them both in school, I was missing out on a lot of work. Plus, my teacher wasn`t the nicest either. One time she made me burst into tears during a lesson. My Mum used to call her the dragon lady. So I quit piano. I still enjoy it, and learn new songs every now and then. I just prefer to play music without pressure, or too many expectations, but rather to muck around and just play for the fun of it. I`ve been able to master much harder things than my teacher graded me at, because I can just take my time. Take that dragon lady!

Just last year, for an early birthday present, I bought myself a guitar with money I had saved up over some time. I didn`t want to learn at school for many reasons, some being that I didn`t want it to take away as much time from schoolwork that my piano lessons did, and that I wanted it to just be fun, and a break from other things, also that I bought myself a pink guitar.....and who wants to bring that to school? My Mum taught herself guitar when she was a teenager, and still has her old one. She offered it to me, but I needed (well, prefered) a left handed guitar, so we ordered one in especially instead. My Mum had forgotten about her guitar, and she wanted to learn again, so we took lessons together. I learnt for only a term, but got sick of the fidgey little songs, and the old fashioned ones Mum liked that she brought in. I wanted to learn some music I liked, since I had gotten down the basics. I now play without lessons, like piano, just for the fun of it. I feel violin is my main passion, so I still learn it. But guitar and piano are just for fun. I find songs I enjoy and learn them. My Mum is still taking lessons, and is much better at tabbing than my, but my chords still own hers, as always >:)

When I was younger I had trouble choosing an instrument to play, I felt the need to play everything. But now with three instruments I no longer have that need and feel fufilled, very happy, and accomplished.

I have lots of heritage that involve music, and the instruments I play. I shall always have a burning passion for music that`s never silenced. I love music more than anything, because it gives me a way to express myself without words. But I still like generic `word` songs ;)
