I am one of those "adult comeback players". You know the story, played in high school, took a 20 year hiatus, etc.

I spent two years on my own trying to re-learn the instrument and finally found a teacher. He has exposed me to a lot of great music, not limiting myself to just the clarinet repetoire.

I also play Native American flutes and recently started on the shakuhachi. It really took me a lot of time to get a note on the shakuhachi.

While I`m not playing clarinet, I spend some time studying Japanese. I was always interested in Japanese culture long before I started playing again.

I love attending live music concerts. I usually go to jazz clubs, sometimes my teacher and I go to chamber music concerts.

As far as other music, I listen to blues, rock, and even had some exposure to heavy metal. I had a friend who got me into Slayer! A guy who hangs out in jazz clubs listens to Slayer!? How did that happen?
