What band is this? It seems like their trumpet and sax sections are not playing at the same tempo. I notice that both sections seem to play faster and louder when it's easy but slower and softer when it's not.

Cello is also on my long list on instruments i have to try b4 i die. lol. but its weird trying to swap from a wind instrument to a string instrument. coz us wind players are so used to using our mouths and our air to make the sounds, its strange not havnig to use ur mouth at all.... but could you imagine a violin with a saxophone mouthpiece on it instead of a peg box... or even weirder an oboe reed instead of a peg box. strange. i should try inventing something like that one day.. lol, but anyways. what have you been up to lately? anything musically interesting?

WOW!! a whole 4 notes on flute!! i tried playing my friend's flute the other day and i nearly got one note!! my sister used to play flute so i wanna steal hers off her but she wont let me. and 2 of my other sisters are trying to teach me violin (one's grade 5 violin and the other is grade 7 violin, and the one in grade 7 is a teacher to 3 little students) but i can play hot cross buns and mary had a little lamb and i think i can play d major scale. its interesting trying to swap from a wind instrument to a string instrument. but i wanna try heaps more instruments too. like bass guitar... but i should buy one first. anyways, i g2g to a piano lesson now so i'll ttys,

i have seen ur posts around in random forums lately and i thought i might indroduce myself. i used to play saxophone(alto) but it was really hard coz i didnt want to play it in the first place and my teachers were always forcing me so at the end of last year i quit because i now play the oboe. yet, even tho i had a very big thing against them, i have come to like the way they sound (when played properly), especially in jazz bands. so one day, i have decided, i will pick up the saxophone again and relearn it at my own pace. until then i am going to learn piano and oboe to the highest of my abilities. I hope i shall talk to you soon,

I have never thought of putting gems on a sax before since there is not crown. I am not sure where I would put one. I am sure I would think of something. People have asked me in the past, but I prefer to just keep it on flutes since that is what I play and sell.

Thanks for wanting to become my friend! Although I'm a clarinettist, I have to agree with you: saxes are great instruments. I wanted to learn the soprano sax, but unfortunately my wind band doesn't own one. The alto I got is one of the type New York Symphonic and it has a Selmer S80 c* mouthpiece. Any idea if they are any good?

I'm going to put off looking for a sax until I fully realize how I'm going to pay for one . By the way, the piano clip was the second movement from Prokofiev's second piano concerto, but now I have Bernstein conducting the "Candide" Overture. When I first joined city band this summer, our first concert included this as the first piece, and I nearly cried just looking at - it looked that difficult. Looking back now, it was really fun after I got the gist of where Mr. Bernstein was going between cut time and 3/2 time ...

Yeah, I'm hoping some of Mozart's genius will shine on my compositions (a concertpiece and concerto). But first, I'll need to finish my music theory "homework" my teacher gave me over the summer - Uuugggghhh!!!. I like your new Starbuck's pic , and I'm glad that you enjoyed both videos.
