I'd love that pic part if you could send it to me at akarner@hotmail.com Thank you so much.
AK42
Yes, you sent me both the pinchgut and the seven movement upon request. I appreciate it. They were great, but I couldn't get the other bassoonist to play the pinchgut jig with me she lacks some confidence but shes pretty good.
AK42
Wow nearly 1000 points! Thats insane!
DanTheMaster
Hey, just e-mailed you a recording of one of your pieces that I hacked through.
DanTheMaster
Hey zoom, how was that piece coming? Oh, and what's the Dallas Wind Competition or whatever you were talking about?
DanTheMaster
The competition/festival is in about a month. And the lineup? Pretty much anything that's not rock, jazz, or popular music.
DanTheMaster
Hey zoom. I was wondering, do you have any fairly long, fairly difficult brass fanfares? Like something for a solo/ensemble?
Canadian
Ontario gets a way more snow than Vancouver. I'm so used to it now though. My oboe is fine in the cold. It's been in these temperature for a long time. I have a nice thick BAM oboe case which keeps it nice a cozy =]!
Currently I've been crazy about reeds. I've been slaving away making them with some luck. It's hard for a beginner, but it's so fun! =]
Canadian - In a parka (xD)
Canadian
Yeah. I saw that user. It's not me at all. I just asked her to change her display picture to a new one. It may get people confused. Anyways, Happy new year to you too! It's been snowy here for awhile. Lucky you in the heat.
Canadian
;o Thunder's not good. Well, if you have anything for oboe, flute, clarinet, trombone/bassoon, or any combo of that sorts i.e. wind quartet/trio tell me =]
Canadian
You wouldn't have any use for brass fanfares, by any chance?
|
|
Uhm, if it were for a C trumpet, and Bb trumpet, sure.
MusicalPanda
Well, currently I'm at about an rcm grade 6 level, but I sight read things that are about grade 8 usually. And sight transpose pieces that are about grade 4. Once you get a website together, could you notify me?
MusicalPanda
Haha, I guess everything can be deceiving! ;]
Ooh, trumpet music! Do you host your sheet music somewhere? I'm really in need of new music to sight read/sight transpose =]
Canadian
Oh no. I just love my oboe more now. What instrument do you play? I think you said tuba?
Canadian
Oh yes. Photoshop is quite the fun tool to have. It's hours of fun. I'm also falling in love with my oboe again.
music_girl_27
NO WE DON'T! WE NEED MORE!! WHO ARE YOU STARING AT!!!
"YOU TALKIN' TO ME? YOU TALKIN' TO ME?? THEN WHO THE HELL ELSE ARE YOU TALKIN' TO???" |

<in best prissy/offended voice> Duh, im talking to you! You got a problem with that?
tenorsaxist
lol, your points keep going up so fast, lol
music_girl_27
i know what you mean. dont we have enough people to argue with without having to resort to attacking complete strangers online?
music_girl_27
grommments - i like it! very apropriate. <sigh> this entire fued seems rather silly to me; how about you? fighting with people we ve never met, or even spoken to over the phone! and there doesnt, when it comes right down to it, seem to even be a logical bse for said arguements *shakes head sadly*

L...O...L...
that's terrible zoom!
(back to a lighter subject)
what instrument(s) do you play?
music_girl_27
yes...i thought "commint" was pretty good too. out of yours i think i liked "cacaoment" the best (now remember, this is coming from an avid chocaholic ) <lighbulb clicks on over head> how about cowmment? specifically designed for those who are to beefy to make regular conversation!
music_girl_27
and to think we got all these from a simple misspelling: "caoment"!
21. cartograment - between one map maker and another
22. commint - peppermint discussion
23. commetarioundía - Mexico's Comment of the Day
24. c0mm3n7 - numerically speaking
25. cunjurment - an ancient chant used to summon spirits and occasionally dieties
music_girl_27
11. caligracomment - for the asian writing enthusiast
12. commentment - for those who dedicate their all
13. comitcomment - thats what killed off the dinosaurs
14. choochooment - pertaining to trains
15. claimment - used to descibe a proclamatory statment
zoom
"cataclysmicomment" Luv it! Earthshattering!! Sooooooooo – how about:
6. Cacaomment – for chocolate-lovers and/or brown-nosers
7. Circamment – or something like that
8. Cha-Cha-Chamment – slide, slide, back-2-3-together
9. Caoutchoucomment – follow the bouncing ball ...
10. caimant – just watch your toes!
music_girl_27
whats a caoment option number 5: a cataclysmicomment (i like my big words)
strathspey
I dinna ken. Have you ever met a dingo?
strathspey
I am not in Scotland *sniff*...
My ancestors were, does that count?
strathspey
Oh hmmm it IS winter there! Seems like winter here too as the temperature has been dropping down to almost freezing each morning. Time for winter coats again ! Do you get much snow there?
strathspey
Australia!
I love that place!
It's so boring where I live that I've become obsessed with any other place
Are you in Sydney??
G'day!
Canadian
Ha, it was.
I'll go look, I was just being lazy =].
Alright:
So the main thing i screw up on is tuplets, eg 4,5,6,7,8,9 ect.... Counting them is hard.
Tied eigth notes in strings of sixteenths such as: sixteenth, sixteenth, eigth tied to another eigth.
Also dotted eigths to sixteenths. It always sounds like I'm playing it as a triplet with the first two notes tied.
Anywho, I hope this helps!
Canadian
Well some rhythms like dotted sixteenths mixed with eigths are hard.
zoom
Of course! *brain fizzle* Glad I didn't type r*etardando into some music I was printing.
(Of course in my case, r*etardando may be more apt!! )
music_girl_27
.... uhhh zoom? on the just2talk u tried not getting "r*etardando" to bleep out. the reason it still did is because its spelled "rItardando" (with an "i") lol it was a good try tho
Canadian
Beats as in rhythms in general. I'm getting better but I seem to fake a lot of the rhythms.
Subdiving helps sooooooo much though,
music_girl_27
Well, ya, but its basically started now since the primaries are over and clinton lost.
zoom
Well, the Obama – Clinton biz was big news over here the whole time it was happening. (I guess it still is, in a way.) Fascinating stuff.
(Brain-dead question: the election's at the end of this year, isn't it?)
music_girl_27
Sounds a lot like the U.S.! maybe itll get better when bush is out of office tho lol. that is, as long as mccain doesnt get the presidency!
zoom
Naaaah – lots of sheep here – some of them even hold important positions in our federal government!
music_girl_27
lol u know, i honestly didnt even know that they had sheep over in Australia before now. I guess the schools think its more important to know the main exports of the Sumerian civilizations (not tht i remeber them lol).
zoom
Well, Australia's economy depended almost entirely on ag exports till about the 1960's. If some of those ag exports had to cross the bridge on foot ... well, so be it! I think a few crossed the bridge on Tuesday night and ended up in the cinema a few seats down from me. Baaaaaad.
music_girl_27
i guess there's been crazier laws, but still. who knows, there might even have been a legitimate reason for passing said law!
zoom
Can't remember if I've ever seen any, even on the back of a truck. I'm pretty sure the sheep-droving law (at least) was fair-dinkum – possibly still is. Could be one of those urban myths, I guess, although the bridge opened in 1932 and there were certainly a lot of sheep in and around Sydney in those days. (Just spent a few minutes Googling around for info ... to no avail. )
Haven't been any kangaroos in central Sydney for quite a few years.
music_girl_27
Still... when was the last time u saw a sheep, in a mob or otherwise, on harbour bridge?
P.S. ive never been to Sydney so i have to ask- is that seriously an actual law? or was an actual law?
zoom
... although ... I think there's still a law which gives a mob of sheep right of way on the Harbour Bridge. If it's been repealed, the change would have happened only recently.
(Of course, any unfortunate sheep wandering down George St would risk being trampled by the kangaroos.)
music_girl_27
ya i can kinda see ur point: after all, when i hear someone say "Sydney" a sheep just isnt the first thing that pops into my head lol
zoom
-lol- Always chaos: sometimes organised, usually just plain. Thought I'd get some local colour happening. (I'm from Sydney.) The previous sheep pic was definitely a random non-Sydney thing.
music_girl_27
nice pic lol do u always do just random things like put a pic of an opera house on ur profile? or is this all some sort of organized chaos as opposed to just plain chaos?
zoom
Ta – I just Googled around and there it was. Cropped it down to 200x200 or thereabouts.
DanTheMaster
Yep. I like their arrangement of "Tuba Tiger Rag."
zoom
