Congratulation for your cello, i can give you sum advices if you like (i bought my cello like 5 weeks ago, and my violin about 2 months) i have found good lessons on you tube, i'll give you tomorrow the links or we can exchange if you have already some. I remember how excited i was the day i got my cello (be careful not to break any string, i did so the very first day with the C string, and my teacher told me it happened to him as well :-) . look for navarra explains his left hand technique is very good and have for bow technique as well.

are you learning cello too or violin only? i'm taking both instruments at a time, so it's kind of hard. Where do you dance or teach? (i have only sightly over a month studying these instruments)
