Hey! Thanks for the comment. I'm actually teaching myself how to play it. I found a fingering chart on the internet (two actually). I find the first one to have less sharpness of some notes.

In order to play the dizi, you must have three (or four) things: a dizi, membrane "reeds," a jiao (er jiao), (and water).
Unfortunately, I don't have any songbooks. I've found some in Chinese instrument music stores and on the internet though.
The Chinese music notation system is fairly simple, it's sort of difficult to describe though.

Learning dizi in a month seems a bit urgent. I hope this helps. =)
