what instrument(s) do you play?

I was mostly arranging for some years, with more tuba-playing than is healthy along the way; now composing (sometimes – seem to get sidetracked far too often )

Do you get much snow there?

Never in Sydney. Well, sometimes one or two flakes on the outskirts. There are mountains 60 miles to the west that get a dusting of snow every now and then but not enough to ski on, say. Our "Snowy Mountains" (200-300 miles south) only get decent skiing conditions every few years.

In fact, you could think of Sydney's weather as being a bit like L.A.'s. Maybe slightly cooler. Today (the middle of "winter") it was T-shirt weather till about 2 PM, then a slight breeze came up (which meant putting an extra shirt or jacket on). There were quite a few people on the beaches – Clovelly, Bronte, Tamarama & Bondi – but almost everyone was wearing a top of some sort.

None of this "freezing point in the mornings" business!

(I'm talking "miles" assuming you're in the U.S. ... naturally, "Strathspey" could indicate Scotland.)

Australia!
I love that place!
It's so boring where I live that I've become obsessed with any other place
Are you in Sydney??
G'day!

------------------------

G'day to you too! Yes, I'm here in Sydney's eastern suburbs. Sunny winter's day. Will probably walk down to Coogee Beach or along to Bondi in an hour or so.

Could be worse!
