Here's a great funky drum riff. You can hear it in James Brown's classic Cold Sweat, and in a great number of bands
influenced by him such as the Brand New Heavies. The deeply funky moment in this beat is surely that gaping whole on beat 4 of the first bar. Gotta love it.
We've added our own little piano riff to it here so you the kind of interlocking rhythms it's easy to create against such a funky beat. The trick again is to avoid the gaping whole mentioned above!
