The spell-binding Colorblind by the Counting Crows places an unusual emphasis on a type of chord known as the '1st inversion' (any of you who has ever taken a music theory exam will surely remember them!)

Basically if you take a root position chord like F:

instead of putting the F at the bottom we put the next note up - the A:

In it's simplest form, the progression used throughout most of the song would be

F Bb F Bb

But there are also a couple of added notes - the inversion chord we mention above actually has an added 9th, making it:

and the 2nd chord, the Bb has an extra A and C, to make Bb major 9th:

Bbmaj9

In actual fact what happens is the rocking A-C created when making an arpeggio from the original F chord goes on rocking back and too throughout the entire progression, so you actually get a series of chords something like this:
