The Artist:Famous for a handful of popular pieces including the Pavane, Dolly Suite, Requiem, Berceuse for violin. His music is characterized by unusual harmonies and modulations

Composition Info: It was originally written for piano and chorus, but soon it was adapted for orchestra.
The pavan was a sixteenth- and seventeenth-century court dance of Italian origin, in duple meter, and stately in tempo and spirit.
