Whats up with that E# in measure 4?

As i recall the better version starts with E';';'; (notation for the Bb-Clarinet in C major instead of G major as printed in the score here). This opens for usage of the full 3 octaves register during the tune.

I have a far better arr. for clarinet somewhere. I think this version here in 8notes.com is too static and limited to the middle register of the clarinet. And this can be heard in some of the passagees here where the natural run towards the higher register (octave) is "tuned down" by continuing the run lower. My first impression though after first listening in Scorch mode here.
