Hi everybody, I just had a quick question.
I was thinking of starting a web site, which would provide sheet music from Mario games. A flaw I currently see in video game sheet music is that it's either badly notated, or impossible to play. So, I have a plan to offer music at professional quality and other special ideas which I won't disclose at the moment. My team and I are attempting to make this the largest, most comprehensive library on the Internet. However, in exchange for these special, unparalleled services, I will charge users for music. My question is: am I legally allowed to charge people for this music? I would provide it for free, but it is difficult at the moment to pay for a domain name and etc. Please reply ASAP, and thank you for your support.

A bit of a late reply, but hopefully you get it.
It is NOT legal to charge for copyrighted music - it's even not allowed to provide it for free, although no-one cares really if it's free.
You would have to obtain a license from the original composer or license holder (could be composer, could be game company, could be a separate music company). You would have to inquire with the company that distributes the game. The fees will probably be royalties plus flat fees - if you can't afford a domain and hosting, you probably can't afford a license (because of the up-front fee).
