Let me make a correction...Armstrong flutes should be in the RECOMMENDED group! Armstrong is a VERY reliable flute!

That list is ridiculous!

At least the following are brands in your list who make some VERY classy professional instruments:

Pearl Flutes
Muramatsu
Prima Sankyo
Altus Flutes
Haynes
Muramatsu

Why did you list Muramatsu twice? It is one of the worl`s most popular top professional makers.

You are surely drunk or just fooling, or ignorant. Which?

My Jupiter DiMedici has yet to have anything go wrong with it.

However, in the amount of time I have already had it, my Gemeinhardt (which I had several years ago) had already been in the shop for two separate issues.

Would you explain exactly how Muramatsu and Haynes got to be on your list?

This list is truely ridiculous! I am an owner of a Blessing, an Armstrong and many other flutes of the `bad` brands have passed through my hands, all of them sold or given away only because of personal reasons, never because of damages or faulty craftsmanship...
Gemindharts are to be recommended only to a player who has enough time on their hands to fix problems (not true for all...I have had several fine Gemindharts...)

Dustin, get a clue! Please don`t go posting stuff like that here unless you really know your facts.
Are you in a special school for special kids by any chance? I have yet to see one of your posts that makes any sense! It is obviouse that you don`t know what the heck you are talking about.

By the way... Artly is one of the worst brands of flute that I have seen yet. I can`t beleive you listed a Muramatus and a Haynes on there?
Like Arak said, are you drunk?

O! I am very sorry, i didn`t see that there! I am sorry. Jupiter and those others are bad because repair people will not even TOUCH them because there are NO parts that will fix them.

I was using the short cut keys on the keyboard to copy and paste and i must of made a mistake. Arak, you are right. Those are very good professional flutes. I have not looked at this forum for a while, so I am very sorry everybody.

Artly is a good brand. You just dont know how to handle it i guess. Armstrong is a VERY good brand. You people just don`t know how to take care of your stuff, unless you bought it at an unprofessional dealer.

"Jupiter and those others are bad because repair people will not even TOUCH them because there are NO parts that will fix them."

Dustin, this is most definitely not true.

Perhaps you have encountered a snob repairer who is not prepared to take on the challenge of getting a cheaper instrument functioning well economically, or perhaps just does not have the additional skill that is sometimes required.

Jupiter are regarded as one of the best of the cheaper Asian brands, and the availability of parts is better than that for almost any other manufacturer. Perhaps you have a technician with such as bad attitude that he has not even discovered this.

Jupiter even provides newsletters itemising every tiny modification they make to each model.

Furthermore it is VERY rare to need a replacement "part" for a flute. Usually only when the technician loses a pivot screw! (Technicians usually buy bulk pads from pad sources, not instrument makers.)

I, as a technician, stock spare screws (and a few other parts for other instruments)for Jupiter instruments because they fit so many other Asian brands, and because they are so cheap and easy to buy.

If I turned down work on jupiter because of the low quality, then I would have to turn down work on about 100 other brands of flutes I have worked on.

"Artly is a good brand. You just dont know how to handle it i guess"

Lol!!! No, I guess after playing on a Powell for many years, why would I want to? Artley is crap.
Dustin, you don`t know what you are talking about. If if you think that Artley is so great then it is obvious that you have yet to try a good flute.
Go out and experience life a little bit more, then come back and post.

I agree with the fact that you must be crazy. This is how I would revamp your list. Obviously there will be slight opinionated differences depending on the player but, for the most part I`m pretty sure most can agree on this list.

no opinion (never played one)
