Crush up a piece of paper to a size that will just fit through the narrowest part fo the piccolo. Drop it into the embouchure hole. Finger low D. Apply mouth to embouchure hole, pointing piccolo sideways at the clarinetist or prefferably brass player. Blow for all you are worth!!! Pretend you are just getting ready to play.

I don`t think so!! Get a detention (and even worse) and not get into my school`s wind ensemble next year!?
The first two clarinetists I know really well.
Although maybe I should do it to the saxophone player from my old school (if I ever go back and visit) as payback for all of the times he blew the saxophone in my ear....

Lol, EdGe!!! That is so funny because I actually did that before back when I was in grade school! I shot the second flutist and blamed it on the saxaphone player behind me.

I play piccolo a lot, so much so that I have to wear ear-plugs! Anyway, use a tuner, practice playing really quietly, and on forte parts, don`t be afraid to play loudly!
I shows confidence. The conductor will adjust you had help blend you into the band!
