I don`t really think you can gold plate your own flute. You need to have a professional do it.

Andrew, look up www.caswellplating.com
There are kits, plating tanks, gold solution and just about everything that you will need to gold plate your flute yourself. I go through this company all the time when gold plating flutes and such for customers. If you are unsure of what you will neeed, just give them a call and they will help. They are a wonderful company and very helful.

Yes, that one will plate silver plated flutes, but I don`t recommend the type of gold solution that comes with it. It is very watered down. It will plate, but only a very thin layer that will come off within a couple of months. The fast gold solution is very good. I use a plating tank now, so I get a very thick layer like the factory does it. Since you are only doing one lip plate, I would recommend the fast gold solution with the plug in plate adapter and wand and just make sure to do several coates.
