Our band decided to join the marching band competition and we spent day and night to practice. one day the director told us flute players that he didn`t want to have them in the band anymore they said that piccolo could replace them.
I gone mad for a year becoz of I`m a head of this section and I always dream of compete along with my boyfriend trumpet player at the competition..I lost my dream and my boy in the same time..oh my painful memory .now I play piano but still dream of playing flute.
I wanna share the story with all u guys

Well, around here, an action such as that would probably cause the people in charge of making that decision to be beaten severly by metal poles of varying sizes.

In any case, you have my sympathies. Loosing your section, especially when you`ve worked hard on getting them to their full potential, is a horrible experience.

that`s sooo stupid, your director shouldn`t have done that. The more talented flute players,( as yourself) make a band soo much better. a flute and picc. are the same, just that a picc. is smaller.

the piccolo cannot really reach its potential without an army of flutes backing it up. the top stone of a pyramid cannot strand when the blocks under it have been taken away. that band director should be fired! if my band director heard of this he`d beat that idiot to a pulp!!

I agree with Shubie!

I march picc: there are 6 piccs and 11 flutes, but the piccs would sound awful if there wasn`t a flute support beneath it.

Majorly mad,
