Is anyone familiar with this flute? I am thinking of buying one but I would like to know how the tone compares with a Yamaha 381. I mean is there a big difference or just a slight difference?

Yes, I owned one for a couple of months before I sold it. I used it as a backup flute. It was very nice and I was very impressed with it. It was a bit on the stuffy side to me and dark. It most likely was the headjoint on it. I prefer a more vibrant sound like the Yamaha, but both models are nice. The only thing I could say to you is to try them side by side for yourself and see which one you like best.

Is it a pro flute or intermediate? I think the dark sound comes from the thicker wall tubing.

It is an intermediate flute. It has a standard wall of .016 do no, it does not have thicker tubing.
