So I've posted before on this site that I have an Artley piccolo at least 30yrs. old. I was just wondering other people's thoughts on Artley brand? I know it's part of the CG Conn family of instruments, but yeah, just wanted know other people's thoughts.

They're good enough piccolos, certainly of much better quality than some of the piccolos on the market today, and will serve their purpose if they're given the proper care. Personally I would use such a piccolo for outdoors activities and opt for a different one for concert music, as the scale is generally better on modern instruments, and I prefer wood for a concert setting, but if that's not an option, it can be used with a band or orchestra. There's nothing wrong with an Artley, IMO.

I played an Artley in Jr. High, High School, and I loved it. Mine was a synthetic wood body and head. I think I paid 550.00 for it in 1978. Great little piccolo if you ask me!
