Ok, I was wondering why, when these students are interested in a certain flutes who are aksing if anyone played a certain type that they are interested in, theres people on here who say o they are not good, I would advise yout o stay away, they did not ask you if you tried them, they asked if you played them? especially with gemeinhardt, There was one with the new Brios, someone asked about one, and an answer was I tried it at a flute conevtion, demo etc, just because you tried it does not mean you fully expierienced that flute? flute have different features to make their sound different than other right? so if one has a different type of head joint lets say to make a different type of sound then your used to, then you would have to take time to get used to it, and get accustomed to it, so you can not give a full opinion when you have not fully expierienced that flute.
I don't know that kind of annoyed me, they should be told to try them, them selves.

Well, I think that it's int the nature of these types of forums that people want to make comments about things. THey may be predisposed to liking or not liking Gemeinhardts in the first place so they may have not even tried a Brio at all.

So, do you like them? and what features are good?

I agree with the others. After a person has been playing so long they tend to know the flute like that back of their hands. I know that I don't have to buy a flute and have it for months to evaluate it. I can do that in a couple of minuets. Don't forget, we also have some highly trained flutists and posts.

With headjoints, I usually know in less than a minute if I love it, hate it, or think it is just okay. I really would like to have a month trying them out personally. I am horrible at making decisions. I have been through so many headjoints. My taste just chances from time to time. I suppose that is why I like have two different headjoints. I play which one my mood is suiting that week or month. Right now I still think that my favorite is my Sheridan but ask me in another month and I might say it is the Goosman. I am just very fickle. It does seem as though I am the most comfortable on my Sheridan. Too bad I am allergic to the silver lip though I originally wanted to get another Sheridan with a gold lip because I loved the silver one that I have now so much, but none of the ones I tried sounded nearly as good. I am supposed to be selling Sheridan, but I don't want to. I might just have to sacrifice my backup flute. Ugh!
