Do you know of anyplace you can rent to own instruments online or in texas. I finally managed to settle on a piccolo but it won;t cime for a 2 weeks and I have a performance this week for piccolo. Our third chair player was more than happy to play it for me but if I can find a place that allows you to rent piccolos that would be great?

Look in your local phonebook and I'm sure there's plenty of music stores around. Oftentimes stores that deal in sales of instruments also deal in rentals of student instruments. If you are in school, perhaps your band director can suggest a place.

There are a number of places both bricks and mortar and online that deal with used instruments, which might be more economical in the long run. It depends on where you're going and what your current needs are.

Why would you agree to play a piccolo solo if you don't have a piccolo yet? Just have the third chair do it if he/she has a piccolo and can play it. Why bother to rent one for only two weeks for one solo? It is only high school, right?
