i know it is easy but i loveee the swan...it is beautiful and soooooooooooo expressive. i love the 2 bach ones u listed also. i played those in 8th grade for a recital and they were both sooo fun and great.
1. Sonatine - Dutilleux (my favorite piece!!!!!)
2. Concerto for Piccolo - Liebermann (Ok, so it's not flute)
2 1/2. Sonata - Liebermann (since #2 wasnt for flute)
3. Concerto in d - Doppler (it's for 2 flutes but whatever)
Guys, Don't ever think that slow pieces equates to "Easy". There is a lot of things that can be played badly in slow pieces, phrasing, tone, tuning, timing, vibrato. Etc....
I think that one of the greatest pieces for flute is the Solo, "Syrinx" by Claude Debussy.
I do like Bach and I'm not going to place one Bach piece over another.
As a matter of fact, I'm not too partial to any of the great flute solos. I really like the one that I'm working on. Right now it's a bit of the Ibert, Piece and the Bozza, Image.
