When I tell people I play the flute they usually don't believe me. Thanks to pop culture Most people assume that flute players are young "nerdy" (I use that in quotes because there cannot be a strict definition) females who do nothing but hang out with band friends and practice.
I have seen all types of people who play the flute; old and young, girls and boys, attractive and not-so-attractive, exciting and boring, etc.
All in all, regardless of what people do, there will be sterotypes. Not much can be done. The best you can do is not stereotype because it is unfair.

we have gotten a lot better and we can march and have great angles now. i think its really really stupid

I look up to a male flute player at my school is very good .. I understand were you are comming from i always the sterotype that all flute are ***** and I am different.I will say that in the flute and piccolo section we do fight alot over parts and chair but no in my section is horrible mean to one another we all help each other out when it come to parts and tone ect. If the whole world would stop being so sterotyped we would live in a different world...
