sounds like you are getting lots of good advice here, let me make a suggestion, one I have made a number of times here, try several, both in a room with good accoustics and one with dead accoustics, and put on a blind fold, go with what feels best.

Is the Sankyo the first flute that you are trying?

Let us know what you think.

Omg I really liked the Sankyo Etude that I tried today it has a very nice rich sound much deeper and briter then my current flute. I like the action and the way the flute feels the keys are really nice and it very different then my armstrong. I played for some of follow flute players who are in my studio class for lessons. Everyone i played for said that my sound was really open and clear on this flute. I dont like the gold lip plate it doesnt do anything with my sound . The headjoint is hand cut and i didnt like the placement i guess. The high octave is really nice on this flute and it very nice to tune so much better than my flute i like the sankyo but i have so many more to try ...beca

I am getting ready for music school in college,
and I recently bought a new flute.

I know buying a flute is a personal choice,
but you asked for opinions,
so I got a pearl Quantz CODA.
I like it a lot,
and you get a lot for your money,
and I liked it the most out of all the flutes I tried.

yes , You are right I might just need to bring to a good shop for a adjustment ,but the facts is I have outgrown this flute ,and I really need a new one it not just a want. I am going to continue trying different flute over this semester and will hopefully get a new one by fall. I am not trying to waste peoples time I was just asking advice about the differnt models of flute that i have researched along with my privite instructor.... The facts on my flute is it a good student model but I am in college and need a higher level flute

Ok here a update I have been trying different flute all semester and I have decided on the Sankyo cf201 with the a sterling silver with 14k riser and gold lip plate. I have never been really on the gold lip plate but I am having problems with silver around my face and I have a very nice tone with this headjoint and I have tried many including 24k gold burkhart tear amazing .

Embouchure ... this has been a really long process and is very slowly changing ,but my tone is so much better it now open even in the higer octave yay.
We are almost finshed with the semester it has been the easiest term ,but I made it through with 3.5 yay for studying.
Finals next week and Board exams
Massive amounts of flute lessons and hours in the practice and marching band boo for piccolo i am sorry but i am not a pic player
