Fascinating thread.

I'm not in any position to discuss the modern makes, being a fancier of classic French flutes - I have four from 1884 to 1956. The market price of these instruments is madly low for the quality and character - so it might be worth considering keeping the Louis Lot because, if it's an oldish one, it is likely to be so different from the modern instruments and better suited to certain types of music-making.

It's taken me some three years to get used to my 1884 Louis Lot and I would endorse the view that their embouchure is quite different from anything else. This has also vastly improved my embouchure on the others.
