I recently found a piece by Rhonda Larson called Way of the rive, and am thinking of ordering it to use for a college audition. I love modern flute music more than other styles personally, but is it wise to use a song such as this. Originally I had planned on Griffes poem, and the Doppler pastoral fantasy, , I'd enjoy some suggestions.

Sorry I meant Way of the River.

Respectful or Rhonda Larson's compositional skills, I'd stick with your first plan.
The audition committee may want to hear something more traditional of the repertoire.

Agreed.
They look for skill and musicality not new music experiences.
Leave the modern idea for when you pass the audition.
