I`ve been playing clarinet and sax. for 3-4 years and recently decided to take up the flute as well. The problem is, I blow air through it and it just sounds like air. Not an actual flute sound. How do I get a real note to come out instead of just a really airy sound? I`ve been trying to play a Bb. (Thought it might be good to start on) Would another note be better to start on? Also, what kind of embouchure for the flute? Sometimes when I play I also end up whistling...probably because the embouchure is not right. Thoughts on that? Any other must know info for learning the flute?
