Hi guys! Thought I would do something fun. Some of these are classical pieces and some are clarinet parts of concert band pieces. Just try to guess the name of the song or concerto.
P.S.- I'm a big Ticheli fan...

M#1

M#2

M#3

M#4

M#5

Note: M#5 is supposed to be a lot faster...

<Added>

M#1 is Clarinet Concerto K.622.
Hint: M#2 is from a Frank Ticheli piece. 1st clarinet.
M#3

<Added>

I kinda don't know if anyone knew. M#3 is Bagatelle.
M#4 is another piece by Ticheli, but has also been written by others. Just think of the "LOCH" Ness monster.^_^
M#5 was composed by Gustav Holst. I love this song.

The only thing that stinks is that there is no tempo change. M#1 is the mozart k.622 mvt. 1. Try this one:

P.S. I am a BIG fan of contemporary music.

This is actually in 2/4. My computer and I don't get along right now!

Damn I'm good

Dennis, do you by any chance know what Weber's "concertino" for clarinet and piano is graded as?

And the end of the phrase:

I guess it stands totally wrong but it's impossible to write upbeats...

Well, in Florida it is graded as a 6 I believe. Then again, the Nielsen isn't an option for clarinet players in Florida except by expressed permission from the FBA (Florida Bandmaster's Association). Also to note that Florida uses a 1-7 Grading Scale. 1-easy - 7-advanced. Where do you live, and I could find out more specifics for your state/country.

Oh okay. That was kind of what I thought. I'm thinking of applying to the Royal Conservatory of Music in Denmark, and it says on their homepage (http://www.dkdm.dk/) that you should play a number like the Concertino to the audition.

Very awesome! I don't know what conservatory I want to go to. I was thinking of The Manhattan School of Music in New York City, but I am also thinking about Berkeley in Boston, Massachusetts. Either way it won't happen for a while. I will go there for my Master's Degree, and I haven't even started college yet for my Bachelor's. I am also 26 ! Time is running out! God I waited too long to go to college.

Toni,

Speaking of Ticheli, have you played Postcard from Meadville before? If not you need to check it out in a recording. If your band is pretty good then you need to Con ( im ean ask of course) your band director to play it in band. It's freaking awesome. Another good Ticheli is Trittico. So the Holst one...I am thinking it is either a Planet or the Suite in Eb.

Dennis,
It's not a movement about the planets, but you got close when you said "Suite in Eb". I was thinking since concert Eb is F on the clarinet... The Holst piece is actually... SECOND SUITE IN F! Completely different...but cool anyway!

I just came home from my band practise. We are playing "Mars" from the planets (I play the e-flat clarinet in that band). I hate this place:

(I had to made it 32th notes make the tempo match the real one)

Wow... it came out much faster than I thought

But okay... I forgot to answer Dennis:
I'm only 21 but I feel like time is running out as well

In Denmark we only have 5 conservatories and the others aren't at Zealand (that's the island where Copenhagen is-by the way Copenhagen isn't in Sweden ). Not that Denmark is that big. I think it would only take 5 hours to go to the one which is in the longest distance from Copenhagen, so I could just as well apply there (okay this sentence is really odd I know it - I just couldn't figure out how to write it down. It's 11:33 PM in Denmark now).

When you reply, there is a box that says "Add Melody". Click the box and two music staffs come up. One for bass clef, one for treble. Just drag the notes you want! Hope this helped.
