If you want to learn flute, go ahead and do it. It shoudln't be too difficult; I picked up my sisters flute a couple months ago and now I'm not too shabby at it. I wouldn't say I'm great, but not bad. The fingerings are similar, so that should help a lot in learning. Have fun!

Playing other istruments are fun(saxes, flutes, clarinets, and oboe for me), but you should try to stay on top of them daily. For example: I can easily go between saxes, clarinets, and oboe, but flute and picc.(for me) require more practicing on than the other horns in order to stay in shape practice-wise. But good luck if you decide to start playing the flute!

my flute repertoire consists of mary had a little lamb and ode to joy! ::is proud::
every time i can get my hands on my friend's flute i figure out another song. as you can see, i don't get it very often, but she's not in my band so it makes sense.

anyway, to be useful:
switching instruments is fun. however, make sure you figure out all your goals and priorities, for both isntruments.
