Any one else have problems when changing from one mouthpiece to another I would like to hear about it for encouragement.
Since Xmas I have been using a Rico B5 Mouthpiece. My old one was a no name. The Rico was easy to play and sounded round and crisp and a little louder than the old one. Now, I read so much about the Vandoran B45 I had to get one. So I Ebayed and bought a brand new in-the-box Vandoran AT45 for $29.95!! (€19. or £15.) (AT=advanced Technology. The latest B45, in other words. ) But, Man, it's like learning to blow all over again. The differences between the two physically are minimal. But a big difference in blowing. And (shock! Horror!) the Vandoran reeds are hard to use with it!!! So I'm using Rico Royal reeds instead and alternating with the Van'd reeds in hoping .... So I'll persevere (and perspire a bit maybe) and crack it eventually. I made a short recording with both mouthpieces (just a scale). Not a lot of difference but I think the AT45 had the edge.
