im pretty sure the the x on the note is the mark where you don't play anything
usually, those markings are for when you shout out "Hey!" instead of playing

and i think the x before is a whole note marking for it maybe? im not sure about that one

is it a really small X? if so it could be a double sharp. Here is a picture and some info on double sharps :

is the x in place of the note or just infront of it? if it's infront of the note it's a double sharp, if it's in place of the note then it's clapping.
