Is there anyone else who feel their director don`t know how to treat the clarinet? The clarinet is a "broad instrument" it can play both sweet and raw, both classical and jazz, long notes and short notes, high and low. Clarinets should be used as clarinets not like flutes, violins or trumpets.

Nah, in my school, its kinda the opposite! Our violins, flutes and trumpets aren`t that good... well neither are our clarinet section in general. Well i`m doing my diploma in clarinet, like one first violin, we`re the highest standard in our school at the moment, and so, whatever we do, our director likes. And she didn`t like the violins interpretation of the music (her area is strings).

But then, our jazz band conductor doesn`t like clarinet for jazz.
