O______O that's strange....

When I tell people I play the oboe they say:

1. The what? Hobo?

2. The long, big one?

3. What's that?

you know what's annoying? idk if this has ever happened to you, but i've gotten called a "hobo" for playing the oboe... that ticked me off kinda, but in some way it was kinda funny. it's annoying, and i get that a lot.. jw if that event has ever occured in any of your lives.. on a positive note, what are all you people playing in band/orchestra? my band.. haha well i dont even want to bother cuz we play such easy music! in shjo were playing some pretty decent ones like Millennium by Richard Meyer. AWESOME OBOE PART! there's also a good solo with Flute 1 in transition to the expressive, slow part

It's REALLY annoying, it's OBOE, not HOBO...

I was once called 'Hobo' by a band director, then he came back another day and called me 'Hobo' twice D:

And, no. I wasn't wear fresh socks. I don't think...

I like calling oboes haut boies instead of oboes It sounds so much cooler. Plus I know what an oboe is. Just tell people your missing your mouth piece and are improvising xD. And that your clarinet shrunk in the wash D:

No one knows what an oboe is. I tell my friends that I play the oboe, and they ask "what game system is that? is it japanese?"

so sad... *shakes head* my friends would do the same thing. they didn't know what a flute or a piccolo was! tsk tsk...
