Just got a Loree that I bought from one of the instructors at Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. It is gorgeous! Thanks for all the advice guys!

Mine is a Hans Kreul, bought new in 1976. I actually like its dark, focused sound better than most Lorées. And I have discovered that its tone projects a lot more than you think; in some trio and quintet recordings I've made, I'm the loudest voice. (Which can be good or bad! *lol*)

I know the help is not needed anymore, but I wanted to write something about my oboe too

I play on Yamaha 841. I got the used one two years ago. It plays very well... for me as a high school student, at least. I like the somewhat rounder keys on Yamaha than the flatter keys of Loree; for me, it's easier to press. The best oboe that I heard playing in my life was my teacher's Laubin... I don't know the specific model name, but heard it's VERY expensive & they are all order-made or something. She also has Loree, but her Laubin sounds very richer & rounder...more like "spherical."

I currently play a linton oboe that was made in the 1970's . I absolutely love it. If you could find a Linton that would be a great way to go. their response is great and they project beautifully.
