Kevin, I saw this listing on eBay and read it many times. It sounded very good to me. The proof of the pudding, as they say, is how they play when you get them. The fact that it has a whisper key lock probably means that it is not the lowest (S13) student model, but you should take it to someone who repairs bassoons and let him tell you what he can about it. How does it sound to you? Does it take a lot of wind to blow it? If so, that might mean it has some leaks. When it`s wet after playing awhile, look down the into the bore of the wing joint and see if you can see any cracks - they will be more apparent then. It looked pretty good to me on the eBay site, so you may just have got a good deal.
