So what valve oil do you guys use.....what do you think is the best?
I am using Zaja Oil(Strawberry). The smell gets annoying after awhile.
It's not working that great for my valves right now.....I have an older Bach Strad(21 years). I have used Blue Juice but didn't like it.

I have tried them all, and the one I always go back to is the one I have used for about 35 years - Al Cass.

I agree, al cass is good. i'm using generic music and arts valve oil right now because i keep losing them/loaning them to people who lose them, and the bottle's half the size and cheaper.

It depends what kind of playing you do. I have used Al Cass for years but found it to be too thin for outside work. I have changed to the Clark Viper oil and have had great success with that oil. I have encouraged my students to go with this oil

I really like the zaja oil on my intermediate yamaha trumpet. It works very well. I do also like the Al Cass. It is always good too. It is also whether conscious for marching band.

Al Cass is great. I've also used a Holton valve oil and it works like a charm. My instrument works hard and when I use the Holton oil I never need to re-oil for awhile. Al Cass and Holton are 2 thumbs UP!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, Mini-Miles -
The Getzen stuff works alright, too. They've been making it and selling it for decades. It all depends on the horn you have. If it's a top-end horn, then you probably want to look at dumping the Getzen and going with the Al Cass. If not, then the Getzen wil be fine. It has a tendency to "gather" stuff and coat the inside of the tubing, kind of like Penzoil does to the oil pans in cars.

Al-Cass Fast!
A buddy of mine plays professionally on the Las Vegas strip and he uses Kerosine (the stuff you put in Oil Lamps)...
Sounds crazy but it really works.
