Im switching to trumpet after 5 yrs of playing trombone and I cant play any notes higher than the D on the staff... Any advice on lips/mouthpieces?

My advice: wait it out! You shouldn't expect your lips to buzz too high at first. At the same time, taking a bigger breath and/or blowing harder can make you jump up partials... that proves you can do it, then you just have to use that same air speed all the time. Hope this helps.

Ditto..practice, practice, practice. Scales, arpeggios, ascending and descending, and don't forget the pedal tones.

The wider splay of the embochure muscles playing from T-bone will take a while to tighten up. Stay after it - it'll come.
