I have been trying to do a horse whinny on my trumpet and it just doesnt seem to be working. I was wondering if anybody has any instructions and/or hints to help the poor horse.

If you press the first valve half way down, and the third fully down. Shake the trumpet a bit and you get a nice horse.
Hope it works!

that works the first valve thing but if you have ever played holiday sleigh ride you have a horse whine and what i did is i put all three valves down and put a vibrato on it with a clear sound. good luck

those work but what i do is put all three of the valves half way down and shake the trumpet as you play. It`s a little bit higher pitched then those other suggestions do.

I have to agree with the last sugestion, you can put a lot more air thru your horn with each valve pushed just less than half way.

i`m not sure how old this link is, but i can tell u how to do one. start off by playing a above staff G or somethign open, then press down all 3 valves have way, then move your trumpet back and forth (quickly, but don`t let it leave ur lips), and slowly let the sound and pitch decrease
