Hi there. As a newbie violin player, I would love to thank my violin teacher Elena Peres of the ABC Violin Academy in Flanders NJ. She has been (and is) a WONDERFUL violin teacher. I always wanted to play and waited until now (this past year...age 35) to begin.
As we worked together week after week after week. I ducked out of 2 (maybe three?) family concerts.
Well, I am happy to say that I finally participated. Within a group of 4 other adults. But yes still participated.
Yes, it was extremely nerve racking; but I will definitly participate in the future ones.
It is AMAZING how much you learn about yourself, violin and appreciation of others in that itsy bitsy piece of time. It is completely different 'level' than that of just practicing at home with your husband or children listening (and throwing out that occasional 'uh-oh mommy' critique).
Again, I really wanted to thank her and to let other newbies know...; and let others know...yep its scary; but it is truley an EXCELLENT learning opportunity!
