You kids are doing the right thing by keeping up with practice on a musical instrument.
I tried to keep up with my study of the cello, but other things took presidence.
so, now that I'm an old man and have the time, I have to learn the basics over again.
Unfortunately, the cost of a cello is beyond my means. I've tried a harmonica, but gave up on it and am trying to relearn how to read music and play the recorder.
Even if I don't succeed, I intend to get mor active with the local recorder society.
Some good is bound to come of it.
I may even persuade my wife to join me in this endeaver.

its a good thing you have rediscoverd music. if you can't afford to buy a cello there are many places (community orcestras) that will give you one and teach you in return for being a part of the band. thats how i started on the euphonium. (now i rent from the school)

this is aloth cheper, around $5 a week.

AHH! Im back!
today I played an musical number for the church services for an Old Folks Home in my neighborhood... It was a fail. I wasn't warmed up very good. At all. oh well. At least it was only some awesome old people (there was this one guy named Lloyd. He is my new hero. He's so funny!)

wow. I love summer. Because I go places. Like thursday- saturday I went with two of my friends to one of my friends property and cabin at a lake. We had a blast. And now tomorrow I am going to girls camp.

But I don't like the fact that going to all these places makes it pretty much impossible to practice. So, during the summer my oboe skills just go like this -------- or they go downhill.

sigh. Summer.

Today I got to play english horn for my grandma's Church service. It went well, surprisingly. I am going to have to keep up practicing on oboe and english horn for youth symphony next year lol. But right now I can't really because I completely ran out of oboe reeds.

i just don't like soapies all together. they are poitless. i do watch house, scrubs, family guy, 2 1/2 men, and other random shows though.

hmm. i normally catch bits and pieces of awesome shows like Arthur, Electric Company, and Cyber Chase when i walk through the family room while my siblings are watching tv:D

Ahh! My new favorite show is Merlin:D It has magic and cool mystical creatures and other mid evil goodness that makes me very happy:D

Other than that I don't really watch any shows. Im more of a movie girl. Like right now my mom and sis are going to rent a movie for us to watch tonight before i go to my play rehearsal.

Hi,again. I haven't been on fr a while. I had to take my wife to the hospital, etc. She will be okay as soon as she the doctors decide what doses of meds to give her.
Anyhow, I found out she used to play the piano in High school. Her getting sick gave us a good opportunity to talk aout other things than the present.
Our local music shop didn't have any recorders and I am a bit impatient, so I ordered a soprono online. I figure I'll start with that as it was recommended to me and decide what to invest in for my regular use. We both agreed that joining the local recorder chapter is a good idea and intend to do so. They seem to be active in this area. (Meetings are at least three times a month.)
My hope is that we can enjoy this together and meet some more people.

Last night we had a full hair/makeup/dress/tech rehersal... It was so long! Plus, our stage is outside, and since it was dark it was really fun trying to change in dark tents:D But I'm so excited, we open on Thursday!!!!

I'm getting a trumpet! My cousin used to play, but he doesn't any more. So they're bringing the trumpet to our family reunion :D I'm excited. I have a strong desire to learn taps and wake everyone on my street up at 7 am:D

Woo go pit orchestra! It is really fun except I am the pit orchestra manager, so I have to find most of the people to be in it.
